I would start about 3 months before the wedding, b/c he'll have to go through fittings like you do with your dress.

Wow you have a long long time to go! Slow down! You have to pick out all the majors first. Your fiance does not need a tux until I would say 3 months before the wedding. At that point you have the bridesmaid colors chosen and it makes it easier for the groom and the groomsmen. Take your tme with this...remember the wedding day itself is just ONE day, and then it's over. The fun part about a wedding is the planning because it's what takes the most time, if you plan so far ahead what do you have left to enjoy?? Congrats, and plan and enjoy it!

No less than 3 months before the event, longer if you think it's going to take awhile to make a decision.
This advice is based on a rental situation... if you're going to buy the tux, buy as far in advance as you'd like but get it fitted within 3 months of the event.

It depends on the rental place. Some require more time than others. And if you have lots of groomsmen, then it might take longer as well. Start looking for the style you want now. Go in late July or early August at the latest, then get them fitted as soon as they come in.

As soon as possible. He will need to reserve the tuxes needed and the shop may need to have some brought in. Sooner the better.

it's one of the easiest parts of the planning. just get it picked over with. but measurements should not be taken more than 2 months before the big day in case he is going to gain or lose weight.
