my photographer said included in my wedding pkg, I get all proofs and all candids. is that just another name for picture? lol! I don't know!

The wedding photographer will always take certain set or posed shots. Usually these are taken right after the ceremony, - Bride with bridesmaids, Groom with groomsmen, bridesmaids, groomsmen, Bride, Groom, Bride and groom, bride and groom exchaning vows, goom putting the ring on bride, more with parents...

the candids are the unposed shots, perhaps people in the wedding party relaxing or getting ready before the event, and usually a lot of candids at the reception.

the candids are just more pictures from the event, but they don't represent any special or required poses.

That term is often said about excess photos taken unaware of people and things with regular shot pics. In the early days of TV there was a program called 'Candid Camera - or smile your on Candid Camera'. Where they go out to various places people frequent and take surprise pics of unsuspected victims.

Unposed pictures that capture people whereever they are. For wedding photography this will be pictures during the coctail hour, on the dance floor, cutting the cake, during the wedding ceremony, etc...

?!?! candid pictures?! like... no posing?? if i'm wrong i'll sound like an idiot, but if i'm right then it's not me that sounds dumb. haven't you ever heard of candid pictures? like someone snaps a picture of you expectedly????

or the saying, "SMILE! You're on Candid Camera!"
