Why don't you ask him? Don't want to come off as a user?
Well, now that's what everyone thinks that reads this.
It shouldn't matter, you shouldn't care and you're not even engaged or living together yet.
His benefits should have no bearing on the decision of marriage.

This question should have been asked of a recruiter for the Coast Guard. Just ask " As the wife of a person in the Coast Guard what will I be entitled to ?" You can explain the situation at the time you talk to them. BUT if this makes a difference as to why you are marring this fellow, what can I say.

The benefits will expire after he gets out if he doesnt retire. Access to PX/BX/Navy exchange, bases, facilities, health care (dentist/doctor) commisaries on military bases. All the general things entitled to a dependant ID card. Best of all, you will be the proud wife of a Seaman if he is enlisted.

He will get additional pay for being married an you may have the ability to get subsidized family housing. You will also be able to use the PX and other base facilities like the clinic. But you don't really get any additional benefits personally.

as soon as he gets out, you lose all bennies, unless he retires, in which case you retain some of them
They include: Free medical insurance and low cost dental. access to commissaries(groecries) and exchanges(tax free department store) as well as access to base facilities such as MWR and gyms. HE will get Basic allowance for Housing at the with dependent rate. he will also qualify for Family Separation allowance when he is deployed away from home port more than 30 days. accompanied PCS moves will be paid for by the military.

There aren't many benefits except that you are married to the one you love. In fact it is actually pretty hard. Even if they are at a station there is still a lot that they miss. If its right then maybe you wouldn't be asking about benefits?

you won't be entitled to a whole lot. If he cheats on you, he can be tried for adultery under the UCMJ. Besides that, there are instances where you might be able to use his GI Bill. The main benefit is being with the one you love.

You may get to see him on "Deadliest Catch" if one of the crab boats sends in a mayday.
