Heartland - I loved her first. Definitely a tear jerker and beautiful song... read the lyrics, you'll cry too (because you can just feel the love)!
I Loved Her First lyrics
Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each others face
So much in love your alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first
How could that beautiful women with you
Be the same freckle face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But its still hard to give her away
I loved her first
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first

My father and I danced to the Michael Buble version of "The Way You Look Tonight". Frank Sinatra sang the original, but we liked the Buble version better because it was softer and smoother. It was cute without being sad!

Your special occasion - and a reason for the kin to have fun - so make it specific for you! Have your mom/daughter dance! perhaps a line dance for the three of you would be exciting - like the bus give up or usa or combination of them. p.c.. a track and then have exciting with the choreography - you are going to be able to desire to commence you and your mom, and then p.c.. up your sister and then your grandmother or something.

This is old school, lol, but i lovd the song "Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross. It played at my aunts wedding, while she danced with her dad, and it was so effing cute. The song is sad, but it will make you appreciate your dad.

Ask your dad!
I wanted the song by Heartland "I loved her first," because it always made me cry and think about how much I love my dad. I was afraid people would judge me for picking out such a sappy, trendy, overplayed song, so I picked out "Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, because it always made me feel happy and content with the state of my life.
My dad and I stepped onto the dance floor, and I almost died when they started playing Heartland. He whispered that he'd heard this song, and that he asked the DJ to play it because he felt it described exactly how he felt about me. He was afraid I'd be mad at him for changing the song.
Another sweet gesture would be to find out what song he and your mom danced to at their wedding. We asked parents and siblings for special first dance songs and had them all played at our wedding as special reminders of the history of love in our lives.
When all else fails, ask your DJ... he/she can spill out a list a mile long of great songs.

We are playing: she's got a way..by billy Joel.
It's a good father-daughter song and it's not too overplayed.

Wind beneath my wings---
(Bette Midler)
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way,
you always walked a step behind.
So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name -- for so long,
a beautiful smile to hide the pain.
CHORUS:
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.
It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it,
I would be nothing with out you.
(CHORUS)
Fly, fly, fly away,
you let me fly so high.
Oh, fly, fly,
so high against the sky, so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you,
the wind beneath my wings.

OK, from a dad himself : ANY opportunity to be a part of that would be wonderful, no matter the particular song.
