If you are kicking the crap out of them after disarming them, that is assault, and that is your problem to deal with.

They are to blame for attacking your property. You have the right to self defence, you do not have the right to continue your 'self defence' once they are no longer attacking you.

However, if you have used excessive force against them, in general, my view is that while a person using aggressive force should be punished, in most cases, the person who was doing the initial damage should get the more severe sentence. After all, if they were not acting in this way, then none of this would have happened.

What's a ned?

If you disarmed them, then beat them up, that's assult any way you look at it. If you beat them up, then disarm them, that's self defense. Where the heck are you at where it takes an ambulance a day to get there?

In the eyes of a court? You are. You hurt them, you're to blame. You're supposed to politely tell them to stop, if they'd be so kind - or to call the police who will of course ignore you as you're not rich enough for their attention.
