some video games are not that much you might go to a game shop or a movie store and buy a game used some of them are cheap like 5-20 dollars or maybe just get him a gift card to somewhere like a McDonald's or walmarts that way he could get what he likes and he would be happy with it

A gift card, a book, transformers, does your daughter know what the boys are into. I'm just guessing, my oldest is 9.

I would give a gift certificate for 10 or 15 to a place he can buy his video games. Kids love getting certificates cause they can spend it themselves. Plus he can pool his money together and buy what he wants. I do this with my sister's kids and they love it! Also just giving $ is OK too.

The last boy b'day party we went to, we gave the child a $15 gift card to the local arcade that also has go-karts, batting cages and minigolf. He loved it!

You could buy him a GameStop Giftcard for 20 dollars. That is always good. Or if he is into movies a DVD isn't too expensive...
