God allowed sickness and disease into the world to test our faith/obedience in Him. I'm not saying if you're "bad", bad things will happen to you. Innocent children are born with defects because we all have a different lot in life. It was (usually) nothing the parents did to cause such an occurance. We simply all have different things that we individually need to endure or overcome in this life. In the next life, our bodies will be make whole and perfect. We are not perfect yet and our DNA is not either.

We are made in his image. It doesn't say we are 100% just like God. We are a mold, not perfectly the same. As far as genetic mutations. Mostly that comes from our own ignorance or stupidity. If you go have sex with a relative or something of that nature; smoke or drink while pregnant the mutations will occur. Humans also have free will. So we are free to do as we went unless you are a child of God (accepted him) Then you have a free will but it is inline with Gods will.

Adam and Eve were created perfect humanly, and then sin enter the picture. Man has continue to cause things of his own design that interfer with the creation of a perfect child. Man designed lead paint, chemicals that should not be put together and so forth like cigarettes. We like to blame God but we are the one's corrupting the world He created. And unfortunately they have effect on our babies.

No, mutations do not interfere with our relationship with God! Just because we were created by God deosn't mean we have to have perfect DNA. And nothing is wrong with most mutations. Because of mutations, humans have race. I consider mutations a great thing!

The first two answerers are correct. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy what God started. He got his foothold due to the rebellion in the garden, (so humanity as a whole is imperfect) and individually he gets his foothold through sin in our lives.
God's offer of salvation and reconciliation to Him isn't about having perfect health, a new Cadillac and a yacht. He offers eternal salvation to be with Him. Have you taken Him up on His offer?

Icarius..it's an APPLE...not a TREE!! (quoting Christians who will probably say that!)
You make a very good point. I think what many Christians will tell you that it is God's will that the person in question be born with a genetic disorder..I agree with you though.

You assume that God is dead and does not have a hand in everything. He didn't create the world and then just let it go!
He has a plan.
