If you could read this long (sorry) post and respond that would be very helpful.

I have two female cats who are sisters and 1.5 years old. Also, they are both fixed. They are extremely loving to each other all the time, except when they play fight. Out of no where they both started acting weird yesterday:

Cat 1 became vary lethargic and looked really tired. She doesn't seem to limp or favor any part of her body when walking. She also doesn't have any visible wounds and isn't licking any part of her body as if hurt. But she doesn't meow in happiness when I enter the room and won't come to me when I call (both things she does regularly). But she slept all last night on my bed and still seems very tired.

Cat 2 is acting pretty much normal around me, but when her sister is anywhere near she hisses and growls at her constantly. She even took a swipe at her sister this morning. She has never acted this way.

I was wondering what could possibly cause this?

I am taking them to the vet after work, but I wanted to get some idea of what could be wrong.

Also, they are completely caught up on their shots, etc, from the vet.

Thanks for being a good pet owner and already have an appt to see the vet.

Couple of things might be going on....

Cat 1 could have caught a kitty cold somehow, even though she's up to date on her shots and since Cat 2 is hissing at her - she wants her to stay away.

or

They could be going through a pecking order shift, and Cat 2 is expressing her dominance...Cat 1, could be trying to sleep through the whole thing because she's not happy about it. A bit of kitty depression. Just keep showing her lots of love and attention....they will work it out.

Good luck and I hope everything is okay.

The lethargic cat may be sick and the other one just doesn't want to be around it. I'm sure your vet will answer all of your questions. I hope everything turns out okay.

I can't say what is wrong with your first cat but my guess as to why the other cat is reacting like that is because she senses the first cat is sick and doesn't want to be near her. I hope your cat gets well soon. :)
