Right - For atheists this is as good as it gets - their life here on earth. But for the Christian - this is as bad as it gets - I have the afterlife and Heaven to look forward to - I have hope. Thanks for this - it was a blessing on this forum!

We can offer a life full of free thought not limited by the precepts of an antiquated religion. We can be morally laudable in the fact that we draw our morals from the real world and global values as opposed to an intangible parent figure. We can live life to the fullest knowing that this is the only one we get. We can relate to our fellow man on a higher level because unlike religions because atheist all believe in the same thing. We can know that what we believe is true to the best knowledge of mankind and we can love each other knowing the we are not children of god but simply people that are human creatures subject to the same rules as the rest of humanity and the universe. We can be content

Let me put your question to you another way, and you will better understand what you're truly asking of us...
If you do not believe in Santa Claus, then what do you have to offer that is better?
(You see, it's not a question of offering anything that is better. It's simply accepting the truth. Would you be capable of believing in Santa Claus, for the simple reason that you don't WANT to not believe in him? I'm sure you can understand, believing in a fictional character is not possible for you, or for anyone else, once you realize that that character is fictional. You presumably have learned that Santa does not exist. You just haven't learned the same thing about god yet. Study up a bit, and you'll get it.)

We offer facts.
I prefer a harsh truth to a pretty lie.
Afterlife: does not concern Science.
Judgment: Judge not less ye be judged
Punishment: Humans do not need punishment, they need compassion.
Eternal Fire: without it, there is no fear, thus no justification to cause harm.
Hell: is illogical. God knows all past present and future. If there is a Hell, then God creates humans to burn in it, because he already knows all of their choices.
Wrath of God: I would never accept a vengeful being as God. I'd rather side with Satan.

When you don't believe in god, you don't have to worry about eternal damnation, being judged based on some archaic system of worship, punishment is self-inflicted, eternal fire is not a concern, and hell and the wrath of god are non-existent.
Basically, you be a good person because it's the right thing to do, you help mankind because it's the right thing to do, not because you fear punishment from some god.
Remember, if you're a good person only to get into heaven or please god, you're not really a good person, you're just a suck up to god.

They will say "the truth". It isn't about taking away anything for them, except maybe the myths.
Also.. atheists have plenty to offer. They offer healthy ways to handle stress and answer confusing questions. They offer advice on how to live your life to its fullest and appreciate the short time we have with each other here on Earth.
They offer suggestions for how to achieve peace.
They offer the concept of a world where people are NOT killing each other over religion.

Strong enough belief in ones own abilities to take responsibility for our actions. Strength of conviction to stand against what is wrong and for what is right rather than attributing injustice as something that will be attoned for in an afterlife. Strength of character and common sense enough that we realise we only get one short go at life so dont waste any time and do all you can with it, rather than sitting in a room full of sheep singing "im a teapot short and stout" and giving all of your money to a bunch of kiddy fiddlers to pay off there victims.

A life with a basis on reality...and factual proof...a truth that is right before our eyes. And also the benefit of not wasting countless hours of our life devoting ourselves to a religion and a god(s) that we have no proof exists. Personally, I have belief that my actions are my own decisions, and the consequences of those actions have no cause outside of myself. My life is my own to control, not an unknown entity. That said, I have no problem with those who are religious, and don't harrass anyone based on religion, and expect the same in return...a silent understanding.

What are you talking about...better then what?
Live and let live, I don't put you down for being a religious person, whatever get's you through the night......
I have nothing to offer you...why should I, your faith should be all you need.

When you added your addition details, this turned into just another variant of Pascal's Wager.
Aside from the issue of which of the thousands of contradictory gods do you believe, the wager produces insincere belief, which doesn't cut it.
QUAFF!

Huh? No God means none of those awful things that you enumerate.
What is better, you ask? Value for this life. Every second is precious - don't waste it on some dreamed up afterlife.
