Love is doing (for that person in mind) the things you ought to do, and derive pleasure from it. The very act of pleasing that person should be the driving force behind what 'you' ask of as love. Your love for that individual should be unconditional, as dis-harming to him/her as well as to your fellow mankind. Don't put him/her before God but put them before friends. By keeping these things in mind negates the possibilities of unfaithfulness otherwise it is simply lust.

Love can only exist between a parent and child. You might think you love a mate but it is not real love. You can have the hots for, be infatuated with, and long for your spouse or mate but it is not love. If you have kids you know what I mean. If not, you won't get it until you do. When you would die for someone, that's love. When you would kill for someone, that's love. There's never been a man I've knows worth doing any of the above for, but my kids, well that's a whole nother story!

The only real answer to this question is that love is a score in tennis. What we feel inside regarding others is a chemical reaction, that is be lived to drive us to keep the species alive. Love differs from person to person and social group to social group. Love can vary in that I love my wife, passionately, I also love my children/grandchildren but not with a sexual drive. I also love some of my co-workers but in a totally different manner. Love is a gift and it is what you make it.

Everyone has a different defination of what love is in their eyes. Someone stated when you can trust someone completly.. well I trust my best friend competly.. but I don't love him.
Love FOR ME, is knowing he's always there for me, he makes me achieve my goals, makes me push for more, wants me to be a better person, gives me his shoulder to cry on, holds me tight, smiles at me for no reason, loves me, tries to give me the world, someone i can't live without...
i mean the list goes on and on. everyone has a different meaning, and when you are in love, you just know.
