That's your version of the event. I suspect the Elders wrote in their journals that they had a meeting with some idiot who thought he knew a thing or two because of a book he had just read, but they pretty much patiently demolished his ridiculous arguments by explaining how Joseph Smith used the King James Version of the Bible as words to cloth the same gospel doctrines as taught in the Bible.

And I suppose Pilate thought he had ripped to shreds the claims Jesus made when he confronted Jesus. The more things change, the more things stay the same.

Well, it's not really much of a victory. These guys are not theologians, they are "Mormon Salesmen", and their discussions are nothing more than a 'pitchbook' used by a Life Insurance Salesman. Curiously, most of the General Authorities were former salesmen.

Actually, the only real scholars you can pick a fight with are the BYU post-grads at the Maxwell Institute, who are paid by the Prophet to put new 'spin' on embarrassing dogma without too much heresy.

I am glad to hear you ripped their beliefs instead of the other way. I would be saddened to hear that missionaries were gloating that they tore you apart. Where there is contention, the Spirit cannot dwell.

Doesn't mean diddly-squat!

Theology is all external presentation. How has this provided any benefit to your spiritual advancement?

If it doesn't benefit anybody, then it is pointless.
