Yeah walking them a lot helps, bc they get used to the people and cant go to them. Also, doing scenarios such as jemineye work best, i read it in a dog training book once so yeah, preferably the one where you have someone come over and you hold a treat while they sit and the person comes. Although, i always enjoy an excited dog jumping up and down and all over me haha

Lots of play and exercise will tire them out and make them less likely to jump. A tired dog is a good dog!

In my case, my friends are coming over on our way to take my dog to exercise, so what I do is, when someone comes over to the house, I make her sit and I keep her attention with a treat. Then I have the person come over and greet her while she's sitting waiting for the treat. She can't get the treat unless she remains calm and doesn't jump. I learned this in an obedience class we took at Petsmart.

It works too when we're on a walk and someone approaches and wants to pet her, I make her sit first. If she's sitting and holding the sit, she can't jump!

If you are expecting company you can have the dog on a lead and jerk it sharply when he starts to jump. Use a command like"no" or "down" in a stern gruff voice. Only say it once. Then when he stops praise him. Make a fuss of him. Take him for walks and spend a lot of time with him. He is looking for attention from your visitors, but if you give him lots of attention at other times he won't need to be so bouncy with them.

Obedience training. Get to a class. You need to learn how to handle your dog. Put him on a leash before anyone comes in. Make him sit. Ignore him when he doesn't do it. Praise him when he does.
