Why are you christian or atheist? I don't want any sarcasm, or "it's nonsense!" answers. I'm frankly tired of how much we don't respect eachother, i respect atheists and all other religions and don't try to shove. If you say christinanty is nonsense, give reasons! If you believe, Praise God and give reasons! I believe. My reasons is the beauty of nature, i don't think coincedence made that. Also, out of personal expierence and understanding, the Lord appeared to me.
God bless.

Sorry for the confusion, i know there's more then the two groups on here. Everyone else can answer too :-).
Also, it's really cool all the answers i'm getting. It reminds me that there are still people who don't just come on here and bash.

I am a Christian.
I can give many reasons for this, but most will be too abstract and subjective to make any sense to someone who is not a Christian. So, I'll simply give this one reason.
One of my biology instructors once stated, "You either believe in evolution or creation. By definition, the two cannot coexist." A statiscical analysis of the various evolutionary theories leaves a person with a 0.000 % chance (with a margin of error of 0.00) of life or even matter existing (at its base level, all evolutionary theories begin with a form of spontaneous generation - all that exists came from some altered form of nothing).
Statiscally speaking, however, I have to give the same chances of all that exists having been created by a being that always existed because there are no other records of a being that always existed.
Logically speaking, though, it is more likely that an all-powerful being created all that we know than all that we know just somehow formed out of absolutely nothing.
Have a great day!
Terry

After divorce under section 13_B there are some clauses that may be or was mutually agreed by both the parties. and now as marriage is over by order of court, she can do nothing except harrassing. so just relax and don't u worry about what she can do. just avoid and just concentrate on yourself. there is one exception that if there is any issue then she can claim maintenance for the child or if she is not working too or not remarried also she can ask for that but only if she has not recieved the amount in full and final take care and relax thats all what can be there in your case

Please remember that although the two "dominant" groups on here are Christian and Atheist (or at least the most vocal, lol), there are other groups on here as well.
I look at the atheists and see them always wanting proof, but not comprehending the fact that proof is not the driving force in Christianity.
I chose Chritianity because it makes sense to me. I have a God who has transformed me and helped me to grow. Through my savior's wisdom and teaching, I have learned how to love. Although I've been a "Christian" most of my life, it was only recently that I discovered how to be a daughter who seeks God's heart. What God showed me is that in developing a relationship with him, the way that I show him that I love him is to say, "God, how can I serve and please you today" and I'm always reminded that this means to love one another. Do I always do this, no.

Good for you, god bless, amen and all that. I wish there were more people like you. I have never tried to convince someone else that their faith is wrong, just don't try and mix it with science.
I'm a atheist, because a finite mind cannot comprehend a infinite universe. Which means just because something is so complex that we (the human race) cannot understand it (yet) it does not mean that it was magically or divinely created.
In a nutshell.

I believe the Bible. Simply because there are to many complicated things for it to be made by a big bang. Like the way the planets stay in their respected line to work all together for the benefit of the earth. The human eye ball. the way trees and flowers die each year yet the return year after year after year. And many more.

I'm a Christian, I became one 7 years ago, the Lord came into my heart and transformed me by the power of the Holy Spirit, I am a new creation in Christ. I am a Christian because God chose me, I don't know why He would care about someone as insignificant as me, but He did and I'm grateful.
As for atheists, why do you let them get on your nerves, they don't bother me at all and reading their comments in no way upsets me or evokes emotion whatsoever- they are of the worldly mind, we are not, thats all there is to it.

I'm a christian because there is no other way that has spoken to my spirit.
I respect and admire many religions and ideas, but I believe Yahweh is God and I believe in his son Yeshua.
I do believe that other people believe what they do as strongly as I believe in what I do. So perhaps there is something to be said about that.

I'm a non-theistic Pagan. There are more than two groups here on R&S, you know...
I'm Pagan because it is the only religion that allows me to question myself and everything around me without feeding me answers. It allows me the strength to change myself, and the optimism to see change in the world, without falling into "good" vs. "bad."
I'm also an atheist. I've never seen anything that would lead me to assume that there are gods. And it would be rude to worship them, assuming they exist, without being asked first.

I am a Christian because I chose to believe in God. My choices were made based upon my own life and what I have experienced. I choose everyday to have faith in my beliefs just as anyone has chosen their own beliefs or non beliefs.

I believe in Jesus because he has appeared to me as well. He has actually reached out and physically touched me.
People say "prove that there is a God." Well I say, if you genuinely search for him, that He will make himself known to you personally.
