I went to a social security office and they've issued one already. I should be getting it in the mail.

It can take from 4 weeks to a couple months depending on your situations I guess... mostly it's just a slow process to just get it to you... sometimes they may send you a letter saying it will be there in a certain time frame... you may also ask them... mine did not take long... maybe a month when I applied for a new card and change in my status... when I got my first one... it did not take long either.... but that was very long ago

Mail should take 4 weeks to receive the card but you can get the number and status at your local office.

Four to six weeks through the mail, but if you need the number immediately, you may get a printout at the SS office.
