I woke up this morning with a VERY sore throat and coughing up some phlegmy substance. Not alot just enough to cause me to worry. Anywho, I have to sing at a wedding rehersal tonight and then tomorrow for the actual wedding. Is there anyway to kick this before then?

HONEY LEMON. It's the best.

Like tea, boil water. Put in however much lemon juice you want, the more the better, and then like half as much honey.

It's the best. =]

Try this:

Cut a lemon in half and boil in water (just enough to cover the lemon)

Add sugar to taste and sip away!

I don't know what it is, but there's something about lemon that will ease a sore throat quicker than cough drops.

I wish you well!

Drink warm stuff like tea or water mixed with honey.
When all else fails, mix some salt with warm water and gargle it until your throat feels better. Don't force your voice to get better.

Drink some Hot tea....the best one for this is Lemon Lift, by Bigelow. Put a teaspoon of honey in it.---Another good "quick fix" is warmed blackberry brandy. (Just a shot).
Don't do a lot of talking today... and stay away from drinking milk.

gargle warm salt water. For real, this works for me whenever I have a sore throat from a cold or flu whatever. Better than medicine & faster & cheaper as well.

You need a tincture my dear
Do whichever of the following tickles your fancy

Gargle with double-strength tea every 2 hours.

OAK BARK has natural astringent properties and can help reduce inflammation. It can be taken in tincture or gargle form. (ONLY buy do not make your own)

MARSHMALLOW LEAF will alleviate irritation in the mouth and throat. It can be taken in pill or tincture form.

SAGE or ARNICA FLOWER, taken in pill or tincture form, will reduce inflammation in the throat and ear areas.
