In South Indian Hindu temples an adult boy's sacrifices are done i.e., the boy is killed. Should it continue?

In Kaliamma & Mariamma Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu state of India every year a young adult boy is wrapped in a saffron coloured cloth & carried to temples by many & sacrificed i.e., killed for some religious purpose I do not know. Shall such killings continue in a civilized human society ? How is the boy selected ? How do the parents allow ? In a Hindu temple in Karnataka state, once a year on a day after special worship, many ladies come out of the temple & run on the roads of the city in nude, some with ten year old son too. In Yelamma temple of South India , prostitution is allowed & considered good works. There are similar smaller temples nearby. In many temples ladies called devdasis( maid servants of God) are put into prostitution legally. Is that religious in those areas ? I don't know. Can anybody clarify why at all such things happen with human beings in India ?

The statement is TOTALLY FALSE AND BASELESS.
Even KILLING OF ANIMALS IS discouraged .IN NO TEMPLE AT ANY TIME HUMAN BEING IS SACRIFICED TO THE KOWLEDGE OF EVEN ORDINARY PEOPLE ..such religious previleges are not claimed by the hindu religion .as in the case of othere religons .If by chance any crook does it secretly in order to get at some treasure , such persons are charged with murder when it comes to notice ..I am from the south of Inida and have being almost all the states. I have not come across any case of any human being sacrificed in any Hindu temple .Please cite authority for the statement . but I do nt know if any such thing is done in any Church or Mosque that seve Briyanis and the flesh dipped ion the blood of Jesus ..Even if something has happened in any Hindu temple some decades ago , it will be actionabl;e now .Please cite the instance instead of making baseless wrong statements .and misguiding people whoi do not have any idea about hindu religons .the vry statement seem to be mischievous..The major religions have portrayed as one who demanded some human sacrifice .See the bible and koran .both are alike in this respect .But the himndu religion does not have a beginning like that . E#ven killig of any creture is a sin in Hinduism.But the sacrifice of animals have been there in some temples of some castes that eat flesh of animals .That they do just as they want to eat mutton of beef at the end of the celebrations .

I have visited temple in Tamil nadu.What you heard and wrote IS ABSOLUTE FALSE.
Not only in Tamilnadu , any where in India there are no sacrifices of Human beings done at any time.It is a rumour you are spreading.
Lemons are offered to Goddess.
Similar rumours are being spread about Puri Jagannath ratha Yatra too.

We offer flowers,fruits, and coconuts and lemons to gods here depending upon the tradition.There is no such human sacrifice any where please.

I am from Tamilnadu.
There is no such practice here.
I think you trying to malign our religion.
Even animal sacrifice has been banned long ago.
There is one Mariamman temple where people are taken around a temple posing like a corpse as an offer for surviving some illness,accident etc..(like a mock funeral procession). The way of worshipping is like that.One can see quite some people doing this offer.
Human sacrifice was never done in Tamilnadu temples.
But Muslim invaders have slaughtered many Hindus in temples and also ransacked the temples.You can read the history.

South India is far more developed and evolved. These states are better administered. Malayala Manorama is the largest circulated Daily News paper , originating from Kerala. Injustice of the kind of human sacrifices can't remain unreported in any of these states.

I am not very sure of your statements.Now and then we hear of these bad practices and police take action on the culprits.This is extreme foolish way of blind religious faith.This is in all religions and so no discussion.It is not every day as you wish to exaggerate it.I have seen even in america parents torturing children with cigrrette butts.These are exceptions and no one makes it believe it is a national pastime.

Hinduisn is ever evolving religion. Please correct your knowledge, no such things as listed in your question, are taking place in first place. Even if they happened in past, it must be due for reasons other than religious. There is no sanction to such act in any of the religious text of Hinduism.
But how can one justify the Qurbani of animals, which has religious sanction in Islam. There are many many things in Quran which are highly objectionable to believers of other faiths. In fact Islam shall not have place in civilised society. It's rligious status shall be dropped to the level of cult.

i know tht all these irrelevant superstitions still exist. its high time we people teach the rest of these superstitious devils that such practises shouldnt be continued.

but most of these temples they sacrifise goats and not really people ....very few temples do that nowadays and most of them i feel are changing for the better. i am sure that if we give them some time , these practises would change in future with proper education.

its so cruel to kill or sacrifice people be it boy or a virgin girl. i hope these people get over the superstitions fast
