First, ignore these other people as they don't know what they're talking about. Trust me, if it was an infection you WOULD know.
Second... Have you been rinsing with something to help keep it clean?

When I had my tounge pierced I was so worried about it getting infected that I was over-rinsing and that caused my tounge to turn white. Can't remember what it was called that I was using, but it was clear like water if that means anything. The problem was it had alcohol in it and it was basically burning my tounge.Once I cut back on rinsing though it went back to normal and everything was fine afterwards.

isn't it helpful when people who have no idea judge you on questions and answer without knowing what they're talking about

your tongue isn't infected - you'd be in pain if it was. white tongue's either a yeast thing (as the other person said), or perhaps just dormant from being less used - try brushing it gently, or just use a salt water mouthwash frequently

It is normal for the area around the metal to turn white as it heals. But not the whole tongue.

my friends tounge turned black for a month. Also, i read in the news that this girl got a tumor in her brain from getting one, and after getting it removed (she almost died), she can now put her whole fist into a hole in her head. Its really nasty. I was going to get my tounge done but not anymore.....

Yes, it's quite common and a sure sign that your tongue is infected and will probably have to have the ring cut out... but what hey!...piercing looks so cool.

I would highly doubt it. You got a yeast infection or thrush or something. You need to go to the doctor. Gargle with salt water for sure to help get rid of that mess.
