I usually use expedia.com.au to find the best fare for the time that I am travelling, then I go directly to the airline involved to actually make the booking. Some airlines have a low price guarrantee that their web price will be better than any other available web price for the same flight, so once you've done the comparison it's often best and cheaper to go to the appropriate airline yourself.

They do charge $20 extra to book through them, but what I do is once you find out the cheapest and best fare, then you go straight to the airlines website and book through them.
