I am writing this do to the response to yesterdays post and the overwhelming people who responded saying that once someone says the prayer there yours forever. A bunch of people said that yesterday and I am here to challenge them and show me where in the Bible it says say a prayer and you are forgiven. The problem is whoever thinks that heard it from some stupid evangelist or someone who had no clue what they were talking about. In acts 2 Peter did not say "you will be saved by faith only," or "pray this prayer and you will be saved. So many today offer a plan of salvation that is incomplete and insufficient. They tell people to believe in christ but what they dont tell people is what Peter told them "repent and be baptized." Now what does it mean to repent. Repent means to change or turn ones life around. Those who come to god decide to leave behind sin and that is repentance. This doesnt mean all christians are perfect, but it means they are continually doing gods work

My point is saying the prayer and accepting jesus is only part of it. you must also carry out gods work in spreading the word, holiness, and serving others. Just because you prayed that prayer and accepted jesus does not guarantee you will go to heaven. That is a very common myth that people come up with based on what society has programed them to think. So this is to all that responded yesterday by telling me once your a christian and accept jesus your saved good or bad which is not true.

see i knew i would get a few responses that didnt make sense. Im not perfect and not here to call anyone out. Im simply here to respond to the answers i got yesterday. Im just saying im so saddened by the way people talk about each other in here especially between religions. So many people call out "christians" the one post i read said have you ever noticed that christians are meaner then non christians. yes they need room to grow. But i know hundreds of people i talk to each week claiming to be christian b/c they go to church once a week or said a prayer for forgiveness. The other part to that however is living out the scripture. doing good deeds, praising god, serving others, even when your wrong walk away to avoid conflict. My whole point was to get people thinking about it. Especially people who say christians are this and that. People who are truly saved turn from sin and serve god and others. Dont put everyone who claims to be christian into the same catergory.

The first ordinances of the Gospel are Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism by immersion and the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

Faith is step one. It must be followed by repentance. Repentance is more than saying you are sorry. It is a change of heart. Is repairing the wrongs.

Once you say a prayer accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior your relationship with God is established forever and the Holy Spirit comes and lives in you forever (John 14:16). God will no longer punish you for your sins past, present or future because Jesus Christ had suffered punishment for all your sins on the cross. Although God will no longer judge you for your sins if you sin you will still suffer the consequences of your sins. So it pays not to sin for your own sake. We are called to work out our salvation by being transformed to be like Jesus to minister to others in His power. We are to use the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life. After we are saved we minister in the power of the Holy Spirit to earn rewards in heaven. The things we do in the flesh counts for nothing but those we do in the Spirit gives life. Awake to righteousness and we sin no more for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

i agree. if your truly saved born again christian it should show. no christians aren't perfect but we should try to be. repent and when you sin ask forgiveness, and always be doing god's work , being christian doesn't always make your problems go away but it gives you comfort to know some day your be in heaven with jesus perfect health and body

Im sorry but your are not in charge of someones personal relationship with God! You certainly are not here to decide who is saved and who isn't. Take a look at yourself!
