I'm looking into colleges, leaning towards NYU. Can someone give me an idea of what the vacation time is like? What time Christmas vacation starts and ends, what time Spring break starts and ends, you do get summer vacation, right?! When does it start, how long is it? Please help me! I'm so confused! I can go home during Christmas/spring/summer Vacation, can't I? I'm home-schooled and I really have no idea about this stuff!

Most schools are on semesters. First semester starts the end of August and ends before Christmas. Then there are usually four to five weeks off before starting the second semester the end of January. This ends end of May. Summer sessions are usually available but optional. There are short breaks for Thanksgiving and Easter. Most have week-long spring and fall breaks as well.
Schools on quarters start and end little later and have different breaks, but would still have Thanksgiving and Easter breaks as well.

Christmas break is usually 4 weeks. The 2nd week of Dec until right after New Years. Sp[ring Break one week usually the 2nd or 3rd week of March. Summer June, July, August. Each college is a little e different depending on their start time and whether they use quarters or semesters. Go to the colleges you like and view their schedule.
