Calmness before the storm
-I believe if it the tides would change and Pagans were the majority...we would still be kind
But will you then change your oppinions ?
I think not!
You wouldn't betray your faith like I wouldn't mine.
It is that simple !
But still there is no need to hate...no need to fight each other !

“If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?” --- Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (The Gulag Archipelago)

Hatred of any group can lead to dehumanising thoughts, behaviour or acts towards them and that leads to a whole manner of evils. Hate of any is not the way.

To you be your Way, and to me mine. [Qur'an: 109:6]

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
--- Jalaluddin Muhammad Rumi

Hate is one of those barriers.

"Forgive him who wrongs you; join him who cuts you off; do good to him who does evil to you, and speak the truth although it be against yourself." --- Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace always)

Salam (peace).

Most people don't even know what their religion teaches. While most religions at least pay lip service to tolerance, being Pagan it so unlike most of the other established religions that your average church goer has no understanding of it. What people don't understand they fear, in turn what is feared is hated. Pagans should not respond to this with hatred but you should use caution both Islam and Christianity will kill you if they can with Gods blessing in some cases. Look inside for your answers." As above so below" is a central Pagan truth

Not everyone hates us. There are a few atheists here who have treated me and other Pagans with a mutual respect. As for others, I'm not sure why they hate us or our religion... I think maybe it's because we aren't like them (rather childish if you ask me) and the fact that there really aren't any in the mainstream religions who honestly look at our religions or us with any kind of respect, yet they demand respect for their own beliefs. "Fear of the unknown" plays quite well into this, don't you think? But you will find a few in here who do not hate us, but again... they all seem to be Non-Christians of a path other than Paganism. I haven't run into a Christian yet that acted with any kind of respect towards us...... notice I did say yet... they may surprise us.

I do not hate pagans

I do however know a little bit of history and they used to oppress a lot of people back in the day when their numbers were large enough.

The majority of pagans worshipped statues in the middle east. Some even worshipped the sun. so when Islam came about, the Prophet asked them: does it make sense for you to worship something that can die? something that can leave? something that has an obvious weakness? and they still held on to their old beliefs and waged wars.

So Im not very fond of pagans in general. If the majority of pagans now are calm people, thats just because theyre a minority, when they were large in numbers, they werent so sweet at all.

As a christian.

I dont hate you in any way.

But my GOD tells me that paganism is a means wherebye you and your fellow persons will be seperated from GOD forever.

This makes me mourn for you and and very angry at the device that is damning you.

But I dont hate you in any way.

If we lived next to each other we would most likely be friends, watch the game ect.

I would not beat you with my bible and quote it to you all the time.

You would know my stance, and my feelings on the matter and that would be enough.

I would pray for you though.. I just would not tell you I was doing it.

If a christian hates you, they are most likely having problems much greater than paganism and the problem is really in their heart, not in your choice.

I don't hate pagans. I just try to understand the motivation of those in modern times to choose to embrace it. Such primitive beliefs were perfectly Ok before there was modern science or medicine. But I find there is some very strange motivation for people who go to modern hospitals for medical treatment but claim to believe in paganism.

well, every religion is convinced that they are right; about everything...

long ago almost everyone believed that there were more than one god. chrisitanity, a cult in that time, wanted more followers. so they are taught that pagans are wrong and doomed to hell, they are bad people, etc.

religion is the most primitive form of government. and any government needs followers. to stop people from converting to paganism they threatened them with eternal damnation.

they don't mean to hate you, they were brainwashed into thinking it. well, almost every religion is taught to hate all others. kinda like nationalism with thoughts.

I don't know. I'm a Christian, but I surely don't hate you, because you're a pagan. God gives you the choice to believe in Him or not. Who am I to give you any less choice?

When they try to pass Constitutional amendments to prevent pagans from marrying or when they won't let you adopt children or serve in the military, then you can wonder about hate.

I am not very well educated on any religion other than Christianity. A true Christian does not hate anyone. A true Christian certainly does not agree with other religions, but he or she does not demonstrate this lack of agreement, with hate. We greet this difference with love. Anyone who calls him, or herself a Christian, and hates anyone, is not a true Christian.

Hated... I don't hate it I just disagree with it!
thank you for respecting Christianity. I do not hate you or anyone for that matter. Now if I were to get to know someone I may dislike them :o) But that is rare. You have to be pretty cruel for me to not like you. I have never really researched Paganism... I really am unaware of any of your beliefs or disbeliefs...
God Bless
