I think it's a great way to meet someone. I met my current boyfriend online and it's nice to read profiles and see who's out there. I don't hang at the bars and have alot of trouble being somewhere where there are single men, so this was a good solution for me. My bf and I have made a life-long commitment and I couldn't be happier. Good luck!

It's a fine way of meeting people. I know several relationships that have worked out very well as a result of hooking up over the Net. Just don't let it become obsessive - there is a world out there, too, you know!

Well I think the Internet is a good place to meet people, but as for dating, I must say, it's kinda pathetic. Like if you meet someone in your area, you probably wouldn't want to ask them out online, but instead, meet somewhere and ask her out there.

We meet each other here don't we?
Is that sad?
I met my wife online two years ago and moved here to the Philippines to be with her, we have a baby due in January and couldn't be happier.
I also have many friends I talk to almost daily, I met mostly at Yahoo Messenger.
So if that's sad, please make me sadder if possible!
If you are looking for a girl to talk to, you can follow the link to a site that is like the one I met my wife at.
It is my site and is free, I set it up especially for the nice women we know here to meet nice guys.

hi there!!

I think the reason that makes it sad and abnormal are the people itself, because the net is over populated by the wrong people. It isn't sad at all, I guess in 50 years time most of the people would just be dating in front of their PC's. :)

As long as it does not replace but compliments your 'real life' interactions, sometimes from looking at peoples profiles you can get more of an idea what is motivating your search for a partner be it sex or relationship

nowerdays everyone has so many demands on their time that it is difficult to meet people. If the internet has opened up another option, what is wrong with that?

I've done it on and off for years with great results. It expands your options. For what it's worth, I'm 36, have a master's degree and a solid career.
