To dream that you are paralyzed, may reflect the current state of your body while you are dreaming. During the REM state of sleep you really are immobile and paralyzed. However symbolically, dreaming that you are paralyzed may mean you are feeling helpless or pinned down in some aspect or circumstances of your waking life. You may feel unable to deal with a situation or that you can't do or change anything. Alternatively, you may feel emotionally paralyzed. You may have difficulties in expressing yourself.
To dream that you cannot breathe, indicates that you are feeling exhausted.

Absolutely noting supernatural or even unusual is going on. Here is a quote from "the Skeptic's Dictionary".
"Sleep paralysis is a condition that occurs in the state just before dropping off to sleep (the hypnagogic state) or just before fully awakening from sleep (the hypnopompic state). The condition is characterized by being unable to move or speak. It is often associated with a feeling that there is some sort of presence, a feeling which often arouses fear but is also accompanied by an inability to cry out. The paralysis may last only a few seconds. The experience may involve visual, auditory, or tactile hallucinations. The description of the symptoms of sleep paralysis is similar to the description many alien abductees give in recounting their abduction experiences. Sleep paralysis is thought by some to account for not only many alien abduction delusions, but also ghost sightings and delusions involving paranormal or supernatural experiences..."

Wow! I get this sometimes too! Only happened a few times though. The difference for me is that I feel like something, or someone, is on top of me restricting me. I know I'm awake though, because I know what's going on around me (my boyfriend is always up at night). I've never really worried about it, and I'm not sure where it comes from. Although I think it's actually known as sleep paralysis, and there's plenty on the web about it. I don't really know what to do about it (without researching it - if you want me to try - just ask), but I hope this helps!

R u worried about something? Just relax before u go to sleep. It happened to me a few times. That's your mind trying to fool u. U know u can beat it. It's just a game, and our mind plays games with us all day long. Maybe u r dreaming that, and your dream is so vivid that u think that it's real. I know how u feel, I have very vivid dreams too. I had problems with it. But when it happens again, just say "I will wake up now!". That might help. Just say that u r strong enough and that no one can fool u.
Hope this helps. It helped me. Enjoy, and sweet dreams!
xoxo

I believe the effect is called sleep paralysis. When we dream, we have to have a way of shutting off our minds control of our bodies, or we would be thrashing around and injuring ourselves and others.
You know that sluggish feeling you have in dreams when you are trying to run away from danger and can't move fast enough? Sleep paralysis is the cause of this.
Sometimes, the sleep paralysis doesn't shut off immediatly. when we wake up. Next time this happens, just remind yourself that this is normal and temporary and don't fight it.

I have had this happen to me before . I even have felt something threatening me in my dream but can't see it and when I try to wake up, I feel weighted down and have to fight to wake up. I know some people with breathing problems and even sleep Apnea can wake up feeling short of breath or gasping for breath.

soreness is a unusual element. Burning a finger or stubbing a toe can harm all evening, yet as quickly as I shattered my wrist into 20 products (bones protruding), i did no longer sense something in any respect. i assume i grow to be in simple terms into "operation mode," and that i found out that soreness could be a incapacity in getting mandatory scientific help. i do no longer think of the worst actual soreness can come close to to the psychological soreness many human beings have suffered. Merry Christmas, and each and all the main suitable to you and your loved ones. And be careful!

Yes. It is very normal and commonly heard of. I think it is a state when you are dreaming and is about to wake up simultaneously. It is an experience and interesting too.
