Uuh, I've been eating 600 calories or less a day for the past 2 weeks now, and I'm no where near starvation. I actually feel more energized than ever!!!

You do still need to excercise to lose weight. I try to excercise in ways that I enjoy, but also ways that burn calories.
Like walking, biking, and dancing.

You lose weight pretty fast. I've gotten really noticeable results in a week and a half.
It's now been 2 weeks, and my mom says I could have lost up to 8 pounds.
I know it doesn't sound like all that much, but the thinner you origninally are, the longer it takes to get it off.
I wasn't that fat to begin with (size 5) so it'll take me probably a month and a half.

And I get the feeling that you aren't that fat either for some reason, so if you are thinner, it won't just all come off in a week.

Hope that helps :-)

Calorie Intake

Jordy, as others have mentioned, 600 calories per day will put your body into starvation mode.

You are better off going a totally different route, which worked for me. It's slower, but ultimately it keeps the weight off, because you are making changes which are more healthy for you. And ultimately, are you wanting to lose the weight and keep it off, or just be able to lose the weight and don't worry about whether you regain it or not?

Here is what I did. I went to the following website and found out my ideal caloric intake (be prepared that as you lose weight, your ideal calories per day will be reduced).

http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/calories-goal.php

Now that I knew my caloric intake, I reduced my calorie intake by 250 calories per day and then looked at different exercises and increased my calorie burning by 250 calories. That meant that I was burning 500 more calories per day than I was consuming.

I also treated my caloric allowance as just that - I can eat up to XX calories per day, but once I use up those calories, I'm done eating for the day. It made me really think through what I consumed each day.

Did it work? I lost 20 pounds between Thanksgiving and Easter (and that was including the Holiday season) and still have kept the weight off. I would like to lose about 15 more pounds, but I'm not in any hurry to do that; primarily because I cannot afford to buy smaller clothes right now.

Your metabolism would slow down. This would mean that your body would try and store as much energy (fat) as it could, and use as little as possible. Depending on what was in those 600 calories, you'd either get really nastily thin - and not hot thin - you'd look like one of the third world people - or you'd actually put on weight if you ate quite a bit of fat in those 600 calories.

If you want to look hot and skinny, cut back to about 1500 calories a day and exercise a lot. Swimming is good for toning.

Hmm i need some tips too but then you are going into starvation mode. just lower the intake of your calorie by 1-300 calories of what you originally eat. such as 2000 then lower it to 1700 and gradually each month lower it by 50-75 but only until the limit is about to 1000 at leat. lowering your calorie too fast immdiately is dangerous. its exactly like going on a hunger strike. I heard if you drink alot of water than your food would run down smoother. and each bite you take chew it at most 22 times to digest easier. and your intestines will not absorb alot of fat from the food and eat 5 small meal a day having fruit and vegetables as a separate meal.

You would probably lose muscle mass faster than weight unless you were very sedentary. The body hangs on to fat rather than muscle and proteins in periods of reduced nutrients. Pict the right calories, and be active. Don't lower your intake to that level as it could be dangerous an would not lead to good results.

you won't exactly starve, but you'll become extremely malnutritioned. your hair'll start falling, your complexion will change. and most of the weight you loose in the beginning will be water weight. after that, you'll stop "loosing weight" and your body will go into a defensive mode and lower your metabolism. why don't you try a diet of 1200 calories a day and half an hour of casual walking. i did and lost 10 pounds in a month and a half, and i didn't even realise that i was "on diet".

Yes, you can lose weight without exercising. I lowered my calorie intake to 200 and I've been losing 1-3lbs a day. I do do a couple of sit ups now and again, but I didn't used to.

ur just gonna lose alot of water and muscle weight...and u'll just end up even fatter than before once that happens, even if u'll weigh less!
never go below 1200kcal when it comes to calorie intakes, and u must exercise atleast 30mins 3 times a week.
