Since this is an older cat, it is probably best that he be seen by a vet to make sure that he doesn't have some kind of obstruction in his stomach or digestive tract. I am guessing that this is more of a hairball problem than a grass problem---UNLESS the grass has been sprayed with some kind of pesticide. My advice to you is to keep him INSIDE for several days and see if this vomiting thing stops. If it does, chances are he's getting into grass that's been treated with something. You may also want to try the hairball gel and see if this helps. If the vomiting continues, take him to your vet. Best of luck to you in keeping him inside.

i would say go to a pet store and find food for older cats, a lot of the food you find at your local grocery store is to rich for older kitties its more for young cats and kittens. and secondly most of the time a cat eats grass because they have an upset stomach and they will throw up if they eat to much of it. you can get pacific cat grass at a pet store which is grass thats just for cats and let them have just a little bit maybe a few times a week. the grass outside has chemicals and fertilizer on it that you dont really want your cat eating. good luck

That is not a bad thing.
Grass helps a cat to throw up hairballs.
You can even get "cat-grass" at the pet store for the same reason. My cat had his own grass on the house he could eat.
So don't worry....

Some cats love to eat and puke, eat and puke, eat and puke (I had a siamese like that who loved his grass, had to wait till he finished throwing up before I could bring him back into the house).
Others can only keep down one or two blades of grass without throwing up. Can you pick a blade for him and make a big show of giving it to him to eat once a day? That helped one of ours quite a bit.

Cats eat grass when they are not feeling well to make themselves sick. It could be that your cat is sick. Call the vet and ask someone there about it. They should eb able to give you advise or if they think it could be a medical condition they will ask you to bring in your cat to see the vet.

Cats eat grass to throw up. It helps ease there stomach. Maybe try switching cat foods ( try an all natural one ) and see if that helps with his stomach. If that doesn't help try taking him to the vet and see if he has something wrong with his tummy.
