My flight isn't till October and I want to change the connecting flight time in Houston to the next flight out. My current connection is only 53 minutes layover and I want to change to the next flight (an hour later) to give me more time for changing planes (I have to change terminals). Can I do this or am I stuck having to run to make my connection? Is there a fee for it? Also, I already changed my seats (travel agent got me seats in the back of the plane). If I keep changing stuff will they think I'm a terrorist? This is my 1st time to fly.

The entire flight is on Continental

They are advance purchase tickets-non refundable. This travel agent didn't help me at all- knowing I had never bought plane tickets so I didn't know the connect time wasn't good till after I bought the tickets.

Continental charges $100 for the change... plus any additional fare if the new flight is currently more expensive than when you origianally booked it.

It's like rebooking the ticket. The new price prevails.. plus $100.

If you bought the cheapest price tickets, they usually charge you a fee if you change any portion. Hopefully your departing flight will not be delayed so you have time to make your layover. If you can, try to find out where your connecting gate is located by asking the flight attendant. Sometimes they announce gates if you are connecting to another city. Maybe the connecting gate isn't too far away. Hopefully your airplane is small so that it will not take you too long to get off the plane.
