Why are the fares so expensive, stagecoach is the worst.

I would say the bus services are not very good. There never is a bus coming every Ten minutes. Plus every time when I get home, there are so many school kids on the bus, many of them have bad manners. The longest I have waited at a bus stop was 40 minutes! This is because it was there were many school kids on the bus, and the other bus was out of service.

London should improve standards on travel and to make sure it's safe and on time for everyone, especially the elderly (as I said, some school kids have no manners at all!)

Unfortunately the bus driver is the face of the operating company, so he/she gets it in the neck every time the bus is late.
The timings on the routes are wrong. From experience of being a bus driver the timings are done in a car without stopping.
Passengers are the reasons most buses are late. I had a woman get on my bus( not an easy access bus) ignoring the easy access bus behind me going the same route to the same destination.
I had to wait whilst she folded pushchair, put child on bus, scratched about in handbag for purse and then gave me a £20 note for a 60p fare.
By the time I left the stop, I was 20 minutes late.

If i go out far often and i don't have a car, then i agree that a transport servicice should be available 24hrs a day. On the other hand, if i have a car i think i don't need that coz there will be alot of problems. For example, if you live near the bus service route, you will hear bus noises. There will be more "happening" on the road at night times. However, we have taxis 24hrs so there is no problem in getting transport especially if emergency, can always book one.

I live in Burghead, just outside of Elgin and our service is every hour. It is often late, most of the drivers are rude and every year the cost of a return goes up buy 10p. It is now nearly £6.

A couple of weeks ago the bus driver drove right past my friend at a bus stop. He only stopped cause another passenger got up and told him.

Last year my little sister was near killed. I got of the bus my mum was behind holding my 4 year old sisters hand she was just about to step off and the driver shut the doors and started to move away. My sister feel off the bus, my mum was still on the bus in tears. The driver just said sorry and after a complaint we just got a letter saying sorry for any inconvenience. This is STAGECOACH for you.

lol I live in San Diego right now and they claim to have a good bus and trolley system...Alright so a while ago me and my freind were waiting for the bus to come. Next thing you know..it was suppose to come every 20 mins, but noooo we had to sit on the sidewalk and it came 2 hours later. Also one time on the ride going home the city bus driver got out and was smoking a cigrett while the bus load of people were waiting about 10 mins.

Hi Petit Chou
You are lucky because you actually have a bus service, but to answer your question: there are so many causes for delays including the passengers themselves.
Have you noticed that half of them do not have their fares ready?
Traffic delays
Bus faults (there is a long list of faults that can easily occur that require a bus to be taken out of service)
to mention just a few.

Our council and the Government are always rabbiting on about getting us to use Public transport - citing Green issues..Not only is public transport not reliable - it stinks ! I would love to drag the Person responsible for this dribble and take them to a Bus stop - which they probably don't notice - when they are in the back of the Limo's - and let them stand next to a Bus - that is churning out thick black smoke - like a Chinese Chemical factory... into the air..and get them on board to sniff - an assortment of lovely aromas...like B.O. and dirty dog - and used Tenna Ladies...
That's why I take the Car....

If it is suppose to come every ten minutes & comes every 20 that is good try Phoenix . every hour & they miss 2 or three aday without notifying you. some routes are every half hour. You cannot depend on buses there to get you to work . They even announced it so they wouldnt be responsible. Phx is absolutly the worst. one day driver made stop on 35 & went to McDonolds & atethey next half hr. bus passed us. lol It cost $1.00 for that.

Every twenty minutes, Luxury. We stay in a village in Scotland..there are buses every half hour at school times. and then every two hours...and takes almost an hour and a half to go the 15 miles to the nearest big town as it stops every few minutes and goes around the houses...and you would think people in a rural setting would need more buses...

ok i used to be a bus driver & i did notice this during my time.

bus driver stops to let someone with a pram on if they have to fold it etc u can add 2 mins per person,

bus driver lets a wheel chair on, then parking correctly lowering ramp, raising ramp you can add another 4 mins.

during this time if you are already running late another bus will catch you up.
then because your already running late your controller will tell you to empty passengers on one behind, this takes 5-10 mins add that on to the amount your already late & you got your 20mins.
