Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.
It's been happening for millions of years.
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

One poster said, "If it was cyclical, this change would have ended in the '70s."
IT DID CHANGE IN THE 70'S FOLKS!!
The alarmists were trying to sell us global cooling then with an impending ice age disaster. When that didn't work out for them, they went with the next cycle, WARMING!

Climate change is very real. Over 300 scientific studies have been done - none of them doubted Global Warming or climate change. U.S. media outlets and conservatives in general are trying to persuade us into thinking the change is cyclical. If it was cyclical, this change would have ended in the '70s. While Al Gore and others may be pursuing the issue for monetary gain, the issue still exists.

It's real and mostly caused by us. The reason that is the position of most all scientists (there are a very few skeptics) because that's what the data says. Proof below.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Even the skeptical scientists acknowledge the globe is warming pretty fast right now. Theories to explain why are either it's natural or it's mostly man made. The first theories don't work numerically (quantitatively). They don't match the data:

Which is why scientists generally agree that this picture is correct:

Proof of agreement:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

Sure climate change is real. There is no such thing as a static climate. The climate is always changing, either getting warm or cool, it never stays the same.

Climate change is definitely real..

Of course it is true. We, human caused this to happen. Everywhere people are driving a car and mostly do not car pool. Harmful gases from the cars will damage the atmosphere and hence cause the climate change from bad to worse. Help save OUR Earth.

Climate change... Yes

Global Warming... No

YES, our climate has always been changing. The ice caps and glaciers have come and gone many times with the cycles.

Of course, the great lakes were caused by climate change. Eleven thousands years ago they were covered up by a mile of ice. Thankfully the globe warmed.

it is not all true
the earth has gone through hot stages for millions of years it just so happens we are around to whitness it it will still be going through these hot stages long after we gone
the goverments are cashing in on peoples fears and ignorance they think we are all children and should do what they say while they line their pockets
but they still jet around the world get driven to and from work in expensive cars and have massive shares in refineries ,oil ,
