ok maybe the church already has money, but how do all the smaller churches here have enough money to pay bills, and other things like that, all the priests here are zipping around in cars when everythigns in walking distance. someone also said to me the government (in ireland) pays them, but why should the government pay for the whole upkeep of the church,i doubt that very much.

it would take an awful lot of money to keep all the catholic churches and priest in the world looked after and for a church that does not take money from its followers WHERE DOES ALL THE MONEY COME FROM?

NOTE:

and no people here do NOT give donations
the moeny fomr the offerings only goes towards paying the cleaners who clean the church itself
i know the pope has alot of money tied up in property and materials but they are not sold!
our church does not take moeny off their followers
the governmetn dosnt,or would only pay for a fraction of the cost!like a grant.
and NO bible reffernces

The Members pay their tithes. By member I mean those who sign on the dotted line not just the regulars.

They've been saving for 1800 years so interest tends to build up. When to few contributed they would go make war and take it. The entire Cathar faith was wiped out in France at the start of the fourteenth century primarily so the Church could claim Cathar lands. The insane wealth is an abomination. They claim to care but how is it that one third of the world is over weight and one third starving. It is and always was about Earthly power, this from a group of people that claim to follow a man who was a pacifist poor man who said that it was a bad idea to value wealth or power on earth. Shame isn't it.

The Catholic Church has impressive assets but each diocese operates independently and many on a thin margin.

Parishes work on endowments, which produces income the archdiocese uses to make up its operating losses but most of the rest of revenue is in land and buildings which includes cemeteries that bring in burial fees. The collections as someone pointed out general go towards meeting a churches operating expenses.

The money for bills etc in churches in Ireland DOES come from the collections. Also, the people living in the parish pay a certain amount of money every so often, called the Parish Dues.

The Church, like a business has many investments that pay dividends. For example, a Church where I live owns farm land, and a farmer pays the church so he can use the land. That is just one example, and there are many other ways that are similar.

The catholic church is one of the richest (if not the richest) organization in the world.
They own from shipping companies and malls, to banks and insurance companies.

Of course most of the money comes from suckers...... errr people.

It sounds to me like you have answered your own question. I am sorry young lady but the money does come from the members of the church.

Churches pay no tax for starters, also the Church you are referring to must be a sub-branch and money must filter into it by the larger Churches...
