You know those people who are popular, outspoken, social butterflies, who have all the right connections...often listed as the pivotal people who changed world history...

Do you think they have a greater responsibility to God about the turn of events their actions make on the world?

Dear Princess Leia,

The Bible teaches that God has given every individual who believes in Him spiritual gifts. One day we will have to give an account of what we did with the gifts that God has given us.

While it is true that some people have greater responsibilities and differing capacities at which they can handle responsibility- our personal accountability to God will be the same. God is a fair and just God and will not judge us based on how much we do- but the quality and the heart with which we do our work for Him.

The Bible needs go getters- like Paul and Peter. But also need people who are not as vocal- like Anna (a widow who devoted her life to prayer and giving).

Thank God for people who do big things: like Billy Graham and Greg Laurie. But also thank God for the quieter people who do the little things like Billy Graham's Sunday school teacher Edward (forgot his last name)...

The Bible teaches that God does not despise small things- and so our heart with which we work matters...

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

Those pivotal people were pivotal because they were the right people, at the right place, in the right time. I don't think that is quite the same thing as "popular, outspoken, social butterflies".

I think they do have a greater responsibility because people look to them for leadership. Obviously, people should trust God, but a lot of times their faith is too weak so they follow an influential person such as a minister. The Bible also says that teachers will be judged by stricter standards.

They ought to!

But just take a look at all these politicians we have... especially Dubya. These bunch of yahoos were mostly elected by you-know-who's. Need I say more?

Peace be with you.
