the Poms or the Yankies

I think that most would say the Yanks.

Personally, I oppose the US government and foreign policy but love Americans as people. So hospitable and friendly and optimistic.

I generally support the UK government but generally don't like the British; they tend to be the exact opposite of the Americans - unfriendly, insular, pessimistic - must be the weather! (No offence intended; I do have some British friends but overall I'd rather be stuck in the US than the UK.)

Rugby - the Kiwis or the Saffers. With a dishonourable mention to Northern Hemisphere referees, but everyone hates them.

Cricket - the Poms

Netball - the Kiwis

They are the only really strong tribal allegiances I know about.

Neither. The US of A would be a far better and healthier country if you know who wasn't at the helm. I tend to agree with oz perp's assessment of this matter. Australians in general cannot stand the stupidity of US administrations at the present time - you need only look at the Iraq fiasco for verification of that. And then take some of Bush's quotes and I quote "I talked to the families who died" (In response to a 9/11 question) "Terrorists don't stop thinking of ways to harm our country and neither do we" (In response to the War on Terror) "Thank you your majesty for celebrating our independence in 1796" (Hosting the Queen on the 400th anniversary of Jamestown's founding) so there you have it.

Well, I'm not sure about the whole country, but for me, it's definitely Mr. Squiggles.

He's always sticking his nose in where it's not wanted.

I'm still having nightmares about that time he snuck up on me from behind..............
