We go to the same gym and have had incidents bordering on racial(with her being iranian and me being asian).I have given her the space she needs though and have been respectful of it entirely.But she will still loo at me at times and try t get my attention.I don't oblige because it pisses me off.and i don't trust her entirely.Anyway after our workout she passes me in the hallway and smiles and i wave at her back.Is this a good thing?And what could it mean?

Instead of asking people on yahoo answers who don't know the girl- you should probably find out directly from her. From your reaction it seems like you may not really be interested- so who cares. If you are interested than she's obviously given you the invitation to initate some sort of conversation.
i think you can get a more accurate answer asking her instead of asking people who don't know.
