I am going to surprise myself here and say that I do like it! Although over-Photoshopping is not usually my idea of a good image, in this case it works for me. I would tone down the highlight on her forehead and nose just a bit, but the warm color is nice. To me, she doesn't look depressed, but maybe maternal?

The image you have posted is nice, however a little fine tuning is needed to make this a better image.

I am a strong believer in retouching. The circles under her eyes should be removed. If your subject has major bags under the eyes, never remove them completely. If they are like the girl in the posted photo, you can remove them completely.

The specular highlights could be toned down or blended better. I would not remove them, just blend them in better. As shown, they make the face look greasy.

Whatever you did to create the blue effect is too abrupt on the left side. More of a gradual transition into the girl would have looked better.

What bothers me the most is the girl's right arm and hand. It is blue. I would have removed the arm and hand because blue is not a natural skin tone. Her left shoulder doesn't bother me in the blue tone because only a little bit is showing. You could further minimize the blue effect on her left shoulder by blurring that corner.

I liked the overall color tones. The blue complimented the orange skin tone. I also liked the composition and cropping.

Well, it doesn't seem depressing to me. It looks like a girl reading a book.

I like the softness of the image. It makes it look like a memory. I didn't care for the grain, but that is a personal issue. Some like it, some don't. I would also consider dropping the highlights a bit.

Nice shot

I think of it a good stock work for an article on depression or mental health. I like the noise, it increases the mystery in the shot, your model is beautiful and that is good.... interesting perspective on angle of camera and posing of model, look spontaneous.

need to show more of the face. She is looking too far down. The diffusion is a bit strong for my liking.

Keep Trying..
