My grandfather was one of the designers of this rocket. He worked along side Warner Von-Braun and they were both very good friends. I was trying to see if anyone knows of this rocket and the significance. (extra point if you can tell me what famous rocket was named AFTER the Nike Zeus)

I think the next one was the Nike zeus B, but it had a few variants that were renamed Spartan & Sentinel. I have heard of the rocket but it wasn't very effective.

Back in 1960-1961 I was in the Navy stationed at White Sands Missile Range. We were doing test and evaluation of the Talos missile. The next firing area to us was for the Zeus. They did not have a very good success rate. I saw many launches. Most launches of the Zeus ended with a terrific explosion at booster separation. Great fireworks show.
Production of the Zeus was deferred in 1961 and phased out in 1963 in favor of a specific ABM system initially designated Nike X but later renamed Sentinel.
The Talos made it to the fleet.
