I own a Crosman quest 1000x and untill recently i had only shot wadcutters but then I shot a hollow point pellet and saw an incredible diference in sound, distance, and accuracy. so I looked up types of pellets and saw that there are a lot of types so i ask... which one is best?

Pointed, flat point. That's pointed pellets that have a sligtly flattened tip. Spire points are impossible to make 100% accurately, so they tend to have some irregularity that harms consistency and thus accuracy. Wadcutters are most accurate, that's why everyone uses them for match pellets, but they have the highest coefficient of drag. The semi pointed have low drag and good consistency.

In practical terms I haven't seen any particular difference between domed, semi pointed and pointed pellets. The difference at ranges I can zap a rabbit reliably (maybe 45 yards max) aren't enough to make me miss a brain shot. So long as I sight and shoot the same ammo they all work well enough.

The most accurate pellet is the wadcutter becasue of the ease and consistinsy of making them.

Rounded i will say are the second most accurate.

The round nose if the best all round pellet

But remember every gun will shot different pellets differently even if its the same brand and model and they where made right next to each other one will like different pellets.

I saw somewhere a pellet sampler pack that had about 5 different types of pellets in it. I think it was RWS brand, and had a couple dozen of each type they make.

Try a site like Pyramid Air and search under pellets, that way you can see what type your specific gun likes!

The truth is all weapons are different, test them in your weapon and let it tell you which it likes the best.

This is true with all weapons, some like one style while other like another even when you test 2 identical, they can very as to what ammo each likes.
