is it true they are gay people that hate god and think they are the devil reincarnated made to hate the world, and tell the world god doesn't exist but the devil is superior. that is what i hear people saying. everybody believes that, is that true? are they devil worshipers who hate?

The Westboro Baptist Church is headed by Fred Phelps, who is a hateful, homophobic bigot. His practice of picketing at funerals is not practiced by any mainstream Baptist church, and Phelps was thrown out of another Baptist church before heading Westboro. Most of the church's members are Phelps' own relatives. He does not allow WBC members to marry outside of the church. The vast majority of Baptists (and Christians in general) find the Westboro Baptist Church a profound embarrassment.

They are the Phelps family who formed a "church" that extoles hatred for gays (especially), Jews, Mormons, Muslims, other Christians who do not believe as they do, etc. They are very paranoid. They picket soldiers funerals saying the death of the soldier (gay or not) is Gods punishment for homosexuality. I have always thought their stance on homosexuality and obsession with it, was something Fred Phelps had personal problems with. I have always wondered if he was gay or had gay experiences and his outward hatred for gays specifically was a manifestation of self-hatred.
Maybe I just like believing old Fred is secretly gay because it makes him much more comical and less frightening somehow.

No, they hate gay people and they believe God hates gays, they are truly a cult and i pray that God will open their eyes to the truth, Although God doesn't like Homosexuality, nobody should be going around saying "God hates Fags". Thats not Christian like at all.

They'd beg to differ, but that's how they act, that's for sure.
(Except for the gay part. Most gay people are cool, peaceful people who aren't hateful, and the Westboro Baptists aren't.)

Westboro Baptists are The Phelps. They are the family which protests against the familys of dead soldiers at THIER FUNERALS.
The Phelps are pretty disgusting. I don't know how we can get rid of them.
