aren't you admitting that faith doesn't mean jackshit, because faith can't be a reliable indicator of truth if people have faith in directly opposing ideas? So how can your argument for the existence of God be "because we have faith"

Let's see evolution has mountains and mountains of evidence. Evolution takes no faith at all no more so than gravity.

Where is any evidence of god? Is it in the book of myth men wrote about him? Is it in the suffering he allows and inspires?

Everyone is not the same. Some people are lead by their heart, others by their head and still others by their hands. I believe you are addressing a heart lead person, and I can not answer for them. I am a head first person, and I would agree with your general statement. With that said, I would say that the argument for the existence of God is based on evidence, logic and reason, not faith. My faith is also based on evidence. But you have to be careful not to argue semantics here. I would agree with you, that faith is not a reliable indicator of truth.

Truth is objective, no matter whether faith is placed on it or not.

Believing something is true does not make it so. So to quote you, when "*some* Christians say that it takes more faith to believe in evolution than creationism." what I believe they are saying is that there is more evidence for a Creator, than for evolution.

I'm LMAO right now. All of those links you posted are saying that they believe in God because of the evidence, not their faith. They are not saying there faith makes it true, they are saying that their faith is based on the evidence, and that we all have faith in something.

Think of faith as a gem with many facets. When it is turned and examined in the light, every facet shines differently, but it is all part of the same gem, but if it is not examined, you have nothing.

We all have faith in something, alot of the time it appears to me that we are arguing about the definition of "faith" itself. Again, semantics.

All evidence is the same, and it is processed through a framework (or filter or paradigm, whichever you prefer to call it). You could even call that framework your faith. What they are not saying is that their faith makes it true, they are saying is that the evidence plus their faith makes it true for them, same as the evidence plus your faith (or paradigm or framework or filter) makes your beliefs true to you also.

But you are right, and I would agree with you. If someone says that something is true because of their faith, then I would say that they are incorrect, and that "faith is not a reliable indicator of truth" as you have said, but I seldom see people making that type of claim, as your links themselves indicate.

Good question though, it has inspired me in my quest to understand faith.

many will continuously holdfast to the techniques and mandates of Christianity because of the fact no evidence is obtainable for what occurs whilst somebody dies. human beings want a reason to stay, a reason to offer out policies and reponsibilities...its the comparable premise mum and dad use to manage little ones, the completed Santa Is observing You, Be good, style of element. Its the human condition to create an answer the place there is none, so i assume whoever created this one in simple terms kinda ran with it...hi, its your tale, guy, tell it any way you wanna, good? lol...

As a former Christian from a Christian family, I can say that for most Christians, these concepts and perceptions are ones that they have been raised with. It is a matter of the comfortable and the familiar.

A person's perspective narrows and expands the boundaries of reason with remarkable ease.

They contradict themselves all the time. The problem is they dedicate themselves to doctrines that are derived, loosely, from the Bible and place those doctrines ahead of reality. They do not have faith; they have indoctrination.
