Yes this is normal for people with caffiene addiction. Give it a week or so and the headaches should stop. You may try taking some tylenol. I have been off caffiene for over a year.

If you made it 2 weeks you are almost done with the physical withdrawal, except the hair of the dog (redbull) doesn't help. Once you have been off for a couple of weeks after withdrawal you can go back to a normal amount. You will feel better, sleep better and be able to focus. Caffeine addiction is usually only physical and not psychological like so called hard drugs.

I don't think that is normal. I gave up 2 gallons of sweet tea a day and quit cold turkey. I did not have any symptoms. I think that with the heavy levels of caffeine you were taking in that your body is not adjusting well , maybe you should not traumatize it that way. Maybe just a pibb a day and cut that out slowly. I am afraid of what you will do to your body to just stop all at one time I do admire you for dropping the habit you just might want to take it a little slower. Good Luck to you

Headaches are definitely a sign of caffeine withdrawals, along with extreme edginess and irritability. My grandmother was a caffeine "junky" for several years and when she quit, she had a headache (very bad headaches) for three months. I am not sure what the answer is to alleviate these withdrawals, unless possibly reducing caffeine intake gradually, rather than suddenly. It's possible that the sudden reduction in sugar is also causing the withdrawals to be worse. I feel for you, that's a tough one.

Yes, you're feeling the withdrawal. It may be easier to begin by just limiting your caffeine (try having 1 cup of tea every morning- it's got caffeine, but also a lot of things that are great for your health.. antioxidants, etc.) rather than quitting cold turkey.

And it is worth it. All the caffeine you've been getting isn't good for you, plus all the added sugar & calories of the soda & energy drinks....

=)

Yes its very normal. and yes its well worth it. I drank alot of that stuff and i stopped cold turkey. usually the pain in the head goes away after 3 days. take some over the counter meds. that helped me alot. you will find after a few days you feel better and don't need the stuff to wake you up. i had a coke for the first time after 6 months and i could taste all the sugar it had. don't give up, it will get better. i promise

Been there, done that!

With me it was coffee.......

I went cold turkey (nearly 30 years ago) and soon afterwards developed migraines. The medication the Dr prescribed was a combinatin of caffiene and something else and made me feel rotten, so I started drinking MODERATE ammounts of coffee and the migraines stopped.

Try cutting down your caffeine intake - I just made weaker coffee, perhaps dilute energy drinks with something else that isn't caffenated????

Cutting it out completely needs to be done slowly so your body adjusts.

I used to be addicted to coffee. I would get headaches if I didn't drink it by 7pm everyday. I just started to drink two drinks at a time. Like 4 cups of coffee and 2 cups of tea. Then I would lower the coffee and raise the tea like 2 cups of coffee and 3cups of tea until i wasnt taking in so much coffee. Now I just drink tea or water.

Caffeine is proven to if similar addictive properties as nicotine and cocaine so yes the first week or two will suck. Think of it like quitting smoking.
Initially take it down to about half your normal intake for the first week. Then Slowly decrease your intake until its at zero.
