very profound question...
to not know what to do with time is to waste it, but there may be a slight reckless enjoyment in that. perhaps some of us would like to have the luxury of never having to decide what to do, to have boundless time to just do nothing yet still have the possibility of doing something should we so decide.

I think you like Susan Ertz.
I also think not knowing what to do with yourself is perfectly normal, since I've never met a single person with a talent for figuring it out. Most people seem to want to continue living just to get past that point and find something better to do. I see no reason to deprive them of the opportunity, or another rainy Sunday afternoon, to figure out what to do with themselves.
Then again, I happen to think that as a rule, people don't truly value something if they don't know they can lose it, so much of the value we find in life is born from the fact we know one day we'll lose it.

Everyone. Everyone wants to live forever, no saine person really wants to die.
People don't do anything because they are tired or because most things are pointless or they feel secure in their home. Or you could be bold and go out and sing in the rain. Enjoy life to its fullest. I guess you have to decide how you really want to spend your rainy saturday afternoon, trying to find that everlasting life or watching football.

I know plenty of people who do but I haven't the faintest idea what they do with a rainy Saturday afternoon. (Something about rainy afternoons always makes me horny but maybe that's just me) One person you might have heard of decided to write a book called Tuck Everlasting when they had nothing else to do.

You must not be very old. The older you get and the first brush with a major illness will really make you think about how nice the possibility of eternal life really is.

No, who would want to live in repetition? After the first 200-300 years wouldn't you run out of things to do? To me living forever would be scary.

Existence is eternal. If you don't know what to do on a rainy day, you will have a long time to learn.

Wonderful question....I must ponder that a while, for I have done that myself. Good thing I like to read....do you think there will be any Tom Clancy in the Public Library in Heaven?

Greed leads to suffering,
not just to the self
Longing for eternal life seems to be a manifestation of greed

Hehe...good question. Maybe that's why I'm not interested in living forever. I think I just wasted 12 hours on this site today....way to spend my time off of work wisely...
