the only people that 'deploy' to Japan are Marine FAST teams and Navy SeaBee units. they spend six months in Yokosuka doing their thing. Then the Marines go back to Okinawa.

now, if you are STATIONED in Japan, absolutely you can be deployed to Iraq.

You're not in the military yet are you?

We don't deploy to Japan or Korea, you may go TDY or PCS there, but not deploy. Depending on your job and branch, yes you could deploy to Iraq from Japan, but not Korea. Korea is a short tour (12 to 24 months) and short tours do not deploy.
