i want to be a woman and dont know why?

have dressed as a woman off and on all my life and feel like myself dressed up the feelings are very strong and dont know what to do i have battled with suicidal thoughts any advise??? i have a wife and three children

First of all, does your wife know you cross-dress and is she supportive of this?

Secondly, if you feel so strongly about wanting to become a woman, do some research on what the gruiling proces is (physically and mentally) and then ask yourself if you really want to be a woman or continue cross-dressing more openly.

It's possible you are just a cross-dresser--you like the feeling of women's clothing. There are a number of men who prefer dressing as a woman, but still identify as a man.

However, if you think you were born the "wrong" gender, you should absolutely talk to a psychiatrists who deals in sexual identity issues. S/he will help you determine whether or not you truly want to be a woman or you just enjoy the way you feel in women's clothing.

You should go to a therapist that specializes in Sexual Identity and talk to them about it. It may be that that is what you are inside and you'll need help to work out those feelings. I say, talk to a therapist first and then work up to talking to your family. These are definately issues that you need to deal with and I'm sure you will be much happier once you work on them.
