Yes, I think they had a 600+ contingent in Iraq (Iraq Humanitarian Assistance Unit), mostly engineers and they returned to Japan in July of 2006.

The unit from the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force has left Iraq. Ships of the Japanese Naval Self Defense Force are on station in the Arabian Sea providing fuel and supplies to the warships of Combined task Force 151.

Japan did send some troops to Afghanistan, but they have left. Japan's constitution (fostered by Americans after WW2) states they can only have a "self-defense force" and are not to engage in external conflicts, and there was a lot of debate in Japan when they sent troops.

The JMSDF and the JSDF have sent troops and humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

if you are asking if US service members stationed in Japan get deployed to Iraq. yes, they do. at least Navy ships do.

Japan can't deploy abide by their constitution.
They can only send their Defense forces to assist local reconstruction.

I don't know if they have any troops in Iraq, but there were Japanese troops in Kuwait when I was there.

They had some in Iraq but they have all been withdrawn.
