Guitar tuners respond to the frequency of a note. (A-440.) In theory, you could tuna fish if it made sound. Answer is yes, you can. You can also tune a bass, violin...any stringed instrument.

Yes, providing one of two things happens:

Either the guitar has a pickup which can be plugged into the tuner, OR the tuner has a condenser mic as well as a plug input. Most guitar tuners do have the mic, but I can't speak for all of them.

Yeah just have the tuner next to the guitar, the acoustic is loud enough for you to tune it. Yeah i do it all the time.
