Hi there...I'm on a diet and I'm doing really well. Everyday I eat an average of 600 calories...for morning I eat about 3/4 cup of cinnamon toast crunch with half cup of skimmed milk...and it contains about 170 calories (from the packet!!)....Since I workout for 2 hrs at a strech after breakfast it really pumps me up...However I was wondering weather it is bad for me...like is it fattening?...170 calories is not too much fo breakfast is it?...please let me know..

Flippin Heck!

You need a substantial breakfast to set you up for the day! I eat porridge (I add raisins) every morning. The 400 calories it contains wakes my body up and keeps it ticking along until lunch. How the hell can you eat 170 for breakfast and then torture your body with a 2 hour workout?!?!

At 5'2 and weighing 7 stone 6 pounds I am a slim women (UK 6, US 0). I eat 3 big meals a day plus snacks. You need to learn that to stay healthy you should exercise 3/4 times a week and eat a healthy diet. You can eat whatever you like just in moderation.

How long do you think you will keep the weight off? How long can you starve yourself and spend two hours a day exercising? Life is too short!

Take a healthier approach to exercise and food, I assure you that you will be happier!

You need to eat more than 600 calories a day first of all. You should eat at least 1000 to keep your metabolism up to burn off more fat! And if you were to eat some protein at breakfast instead of simple carbohydrates you will not be as hungry before lunch. Simple carbs. burn off fast and convert easily to fat, protein doesn't. Try eating a whole grain toast and an egg and I bet you will feel better! Whole grains take longer to break down and will also keep you full longer. There are better cereals out there too with whole grains. Sugar is also bad when you are trying to lose weight. It easily converts to fat as well. I always cut out simple carbs and sugar when losing weight and eat small meals throughout the day to keep the metabolism going and it works well. More protein, less carbs.

The sugar rush from that cereal will leave you in the dumps when it wears off. Simply restricting calories will not help you long term. In fact, it will put your pancreas in overdrive, which will make it store sugars/carbs in your body tissues (make you fat).

Consider something that will stick with you longer, like a couple of eggs cooked in butter or coconut oil.
But DON'T put any kind of bread or cereal with it. You don't put carbs with protein/fats because that will make you fat. This is basic food combining.

You have to allow time for your system to digest each type of food. You can have fruit 2 hours after a protein/fat meal, or 30 minutes after a carb meal.

If you need a quick snack, either reach for an apple (2 hours after such a protein meal) for an energy boost, or you can reach for another protein source like a piece of cheese or a hard-boiled egg.

Jessie is right. 600 calories is the worst thing u could do to your body. Your body is going into starvation mode because it thinks there is no food available. so when u do start eating regularly again (And you will) it will store all the fat it can for later you and you will then blow up. you have to eat right and excericise to lose weight. restricting calories is only going to confuse your body into storing all the fat it can.

It is bad because most of the calories come from sugar and have no nutritional value.
