I was 11 or 12 when I got mine. I think you might be able to get them a little younger now. It probably depends on your optometrist's preferences.

I heard a news blurb about babies with certain eye problems, and they were using contacts. So your parents will probably say 11-12, but the doctors might allow it earlier.

I was 10 when I got mine, but I had had glasses since I was 4 years old and never broke them or lost them or anything. I guess it depends on the person, and your eye doctor, so I would just ask your eye doctor about it sometime.

I received mine at 13, but some people in my middle school had them at 10.

When the child is responsible enough. If the child can't even take responsibility with glasses I don't recommend it.
Personally I don't recommend contacts.

13 was as soon as I could. Used them for 10 years until my eyes said Enough! Then I had Lasik and that was that.

if you can care for your self...you can care for contacts. I've seen 10 yr olds with them...depends on the child, his/her parents and the eye Dr.

Newborn. But the parents have to put them in, take them out and care for them.
Your parents want you to be able to care for them yourself and they may also want you to pay part of the cost. So ask your parents if you can have them.

i got mine when i was 12, but it also depends on if your able to take care of them and handle them properly.
