To be real honest, I think if the guy had half a brain he would like to know about the divorce. I mean ending a marriage is not just any type of past relationship. Marriage is a serious commitment and though it may not particularly be his business but getting a few of the facts from that relationship can help him learn what he should work on before proposing marriage to you when he is ready. And to make the marriage more a success with him. He has to know what got under your skin about your ex. So he can do a better job than the ex did. And even without kids its even better because that way he has time to build a more love bond and connection without the strain of having to help you with kids so much. So you two can have more one on one time. Which would be more beneficial to both you and him.

If you want to go into a relationship with open communication, you need to discuss these issues. People "fall in love" and don't think about these things, but later when we settle down, these can be big issues. I suggest being open and if it ends the relationship, it wasn't meant to be. It would be worse to deal with these issues later.
