My tubs finish is awful and trying to decide which way to go, buy a new one or have it reglazed. My house was built in the 50s so I'm assuming it's cast iron.

I had a cast iron tub reglazed about 6 months ago. I was (and still am) amazed at how it actually looked brand new. The only caveat with a reglazed tub is that you have to treat it as if it were acrylic. No abrasive cleansers. Scrubbing Bubbles works well for me.

I now wish I'd done the same for another tub that I replaced earlier. I think the original cast iron tub was a better one than the acrylic one I put in --- plus, I would have saved $$$.

Reglazing my 5' tub cost about $70.
