Or perhaps you say it yourself...?

Besides the people on here, I only know one person that actually says this. If you agree with that term, why do you think it should be called a Christian Nation?

Sadly yes I know a few people that believe that the United States is a Christian nation.

The Bible's God, ruler of the universe, runs counter to the American Constitution. He does not support democracy (He rules;Psalms 2,89,110: the King is Yahweh's son), freedom of religion (no other gods allowed) or freedom of speech (no blasphemy).

The perception of much of the rest of the world, especially the Muslim world is, that we are a Christian nation.
Small wonder they have such a warped perception of Christianity when they see what Hollywood, television, the music industry, and the media are exporting.

Yeah. Me.

America is a Christian nation since Christianity is the largest religion within the country.

Wouldn't you consider Iran to be an Islamic Nation?

I am certain that the USA is not a "Christian nation", and I reject any idea that it is.

And the Founding Fathers weren't all Christians. Many of them were freemasons (rejecting that Jesus is God, therefore not Christian) and Deists (an entire study in itself, but not Christian by a long shot).

Just because someone says "In God we trust" doesn't make them a Christian.

Yes, I know several people who refer to the U. S. as a Christian nation.

I don't think it should be called a Christian Nation; I also don't think it should be called "United".

Many people call the U.S. a christian nation, because most people believe in God.

I don't. But I believe it is called that because it has the highest number of those who claim Christianity as their religion (i.e Catholics, Protestants, etc)

My parents say it all the time, because if you look back into our history the Founding Fathers based everything on the Bible and prayed for their country.

Yes, this is one of my father's grand ideas. No, I don't agree with him. The US was founded on the principles of the Enlightenment: basic respect for reason, human equality, liberty and rights, democracy and freedom, religious tolerance, etc. They're values which are compatible with (some forms of) Christianity. But you have to intensely revise history to conclude that this is a Christian Nation.

Peace to you.

I actually completely disagree with that term and i believe that the U.S should not have a religious name to it because of seperation of church and state
