Ill tell you what, AF officers have the best of it so dont go into other branches enlisted and hope for similar qualities of life. As long as you mind your money and bonus' well you will be fine enlisted. Enlisted vs Officer boils down to technician/hands on vs leader/manager and money. 4 years of higher schooling isn't much to ask especially with all the scholarships thrown out there. Not to mention most NCOs have degrees nowdays (AF wise).

i absolutely agree, the military is not for everyone.
I went into the marines having mixed emotions. i wasnt entirely sure what to expect, and although im glad i went in, i didnt reenlist. I didnt care for the atmosphere.. i enlisted when i was 25, so i was pretty old.. i lived by myself from the time i was 18, so it was hard getting used to living with other people. i was used to having basically my own hours, and it sucked being told what time i had to be in and what time i could leave. i think that if i would have went in right after highschool, things would have been different.

Depends on how long you want to live.
I'm not talking about getting shot at when deployed.
I'm talking about vaccine damage and exposure to "depleted uranium" that they peppered both Afghanistan and Iraq with... tons of it.
Do you want to spend the next ten years after you get out fighting autoimmune diseases and multiple cancers?
And do you want to spend all that time fighting for benefits that are currently being denied our returning troops?

The recruiters sell you on all the veterans' benefits, but they don't tell you that a lot of that budget has already been taken away by Bush and his bunch.

Only if you feel that you want to serve in the military. Don't be pressured into doing something that you do not want to do.

I joined the Navy in 1987. It was the best thing for me, but the military is not for everyone.

no. 30k enlistment and 30k year is not all that much, and you're away from home all that time. You should look into something else. It attracts some people though that they help to keep freedom.

Don't enlist. Go to college and then go in as an officer. You will make more money.

Yes. You can get training and an education. If you like it and stay in, it gets better, If you leave, you will have a better preparedness for life.
