i heard of linux but what is it actually? and the word that starts with a "F" i think its called fedox? can't remember where i heard it but i know i heard it.

linux is another type of operating system, there are many kinds of linux. such as fedora, red hat, etc

Linux is a free unix-like operating system, it does the same as Windows, only faster and more secure. It does have a graphical point and click interface and is nothing like dos. In fact most variations offer a selection of different window managers, The standard Suse Linux distro has KDE, GNOME WVM and a few others.

linux is a free opensource operating system based off of Unix. Basically it is like DOS, command line, no point and click. It is much more powerful/stable than Windows.
